Joonas Savolainen DC, MChiro
Joonas was first introduced to chiropractic care after experiencing a long history of low back pain while playing junior ice hockey in Finland.
He first began his pursue towards chiropractic by studying Health Sciences at Douglas College in Canada where he completed a Sports Sciences Diploma in 2013 before returning back to Finland to study a massage therapy where he obtained his Registered Massage Therapy qualifications. After a short time working, he decided to pursue a masters degree in chiropractic at the AECC University College in 2015 from where he received his Masters in Chiropractic 1st in 2019. While in England, he has also completed additional training in Active Release Technique and Shockwave Therapy to further deepen his knowledge and understanding of the human body.
Outside of clinic and caring for patients Joonas enjoys spending time with his wife and five year old Staffie Luna, and training Brazilian jiu-jitsu which he has been training and competing since 2007. He received his black belt in 2018.
Joonas is a big advocate of combining manual therapy modalities, activity modification and exercise prescription to achieve long term success in patient care.
