Headaches and Treatment

There are many types of headaches and often people do not know how to distinguish between them. Headaches are very common in modern day life and, because they happen regularly, people often just refer to it as a normal headache and do not think of its cause. Headaches usually happen for a reason and for the majority of people who seek chiropractic treatment find it a very effective way of treating the cause and ultimately the headache. One of the most common types of headache that chiropractors see is called cervicogenic headache.

CERVICOGENIC HEADACHE

One of the most common types of headache that chiropractors see is called cervicogenic headache, which is caused by misalignments in the neck (the cervical spine). Cervical headache is often caused by sudden neck movement and/or holding your head in a sustained awkward position.

Pain referral can be from muscles, ligaments, joints and discs. The pain itself may radiate to the forehead, the eyes, the temple and the ears. As mentioned before, chiropractic treatment and adjustment is thought to be very successful for this type of headache.
